Ping4Alzheimer & MedEx-Table Tennis for Dementia
Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care hosts a Canadian chapter of the French "Ping4Alzheimer" program. This non-profit initiative uses table tennis therapy to help individuals with dementia and their families. Research and participant feedback indicate benefits such as improved focus, balance, sleep, and overall happiness, while also helping to reduce the stigma associated with dementia.
Based on the search results, Ping4Alzheimer programs in Canada are available at the following locations:
* Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care (Mississauga, ON): This location hosts the first Canadian chapter of the Ping4Alzheimer program.
* Amica Senior Center Peel Village (Mississauga, ON): This is the second Ping4Alzheimer chapter established in Canada, also in Mississauga.
* Camille's Place (Mississauga, ON): A new Ping4Alzheimer chapter was announced to be starting at this location.
* Canadian Chinese Table Tennis Association (Markham, ON): The Medex-Table Tennis for Dementia program, based on the Ping4Alzheimer model, was launched here in partnership with the Yee Hong Centre.
The program is currently focused in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) of Ontario.
A Note on Ping4Alzheimer by Kevin Guo, the founder of TT4EVER. "A major aspect of TT4EVER is the Ping4Alzheimer program. Ping4Alzheimer is a French program that utilizes table tennis as a means to mitigate the impacts of Alzheimer's in seniors. I came across the Ping4Alzheimer program in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic; last summer, I obtained my official Ping4Alzheimer trainer certification, and helped to run the first Canadian Ping4Alzheimer chapter at the Yee Hong Senior Center. Earlier this year, TT4EVER helped to establish a second Ping4Alzheimer chapter within Canada at the Amica Senior Center Peel Village."

Very well organized table tennis club. Each player has a name tag which is placed at a numbered table (Numbers 1-8) on the board. When there are more players than available tables, name tags are placed on WAIT and moved when tables become available.
When a table becomes free (after completing two games per group of four players), the organizer announces the waiting players' names and tell them which table to go to over the PA system (if players are not paying attention to the board showing them which table they have been assigned).
September 8, 2026 is the date for renewal of existing RGSFC membership. After that date, new members can join but up to the maximum number allowed. This is a very precious membership. I had to wait a year to become a new member last year as RGSFC had reached its maximum number of members.
