World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) was launched by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the World Health Organization at the United Nations on June 15, 2006. Since its inception, communities around the world used this day as an opportunity to raise awareness of elder abuse and neglect of older persons, by sharing information about the facts of elder abuse, the rights of older persons and promote resources and services to support seniors' safety and well-being.
Factsheets and Webinars from Elder Abuse Prevention Ontario (EAPON). Elder Abuse is defined by the World Health Organization as "is an intentional act, or failure to act, by a caregiver or another person in a relationship involving an expectation of trust that causes harm to an adult 60 years and older."
Human Rights Don't Get Old. Aging with Rights: Ending Elder Abuse in Canada from CanAge, Canada's national seniors' advocacy organization, working to improve the lives of older adults through advocacy, policy, and community engagement.
Protecting Yourself from Financial Abuse from Canadian Bankers Association.
