Put a "Spring" in Your Step!
I'm pleased to have this opportunity to address you, along with Linda, in my first message as
Interim President of the Centre -- taking over for the next 3 months from Esther Williams.
Spring is a time for renewal and rebirth. I know it may seem a long way off, but it is truly just around the corner. The air is still crisp and snow is on the ground as I write this, but I look forward to once again digging into my garden and brushing off my nordic walking poles to go for a long stroll. I'm sure that like me, you too have various projects that you're looking forward to tackling when the weather warms up. With this in mind, I encourage you to take advantage of the anticipated pleasant weather, longer daylight hours and easier mobility to uncover all that SQOAC offers in terms of trips, travel, new programming and early evening classes. There are truly plenty of activities for our members and neighbours to explore!
If you have any concerns or queries about the Centre, know that your Board of Directors is here to lend an ear and a hand. Please drop your suggestions / concerns in the suggestion box located by the Administration office door to my attention, and we'll get back to you ASAP if you provide your contact information.
Please note that SQOAC's Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2013. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate. Also, please consider using your time, talents and skills as a member of our Board of Directors - it's an extraordinary way for you to contribute positively to the life and well-being of your Centre. Several interesting positions are available, so please feel free to contact Linda at your convenience for more information. Be on the lookout for nomination forms in the upcoming member newsletter set to be distributed in late April. Position descriptions will also be posted, for your convenience, on the volunteer bulletin board at the Centre.
Our best wishes for a Happy, Healthy and Vibrant Spring,
